Cari Giovanni, Fulvio, soci e amici di tutte le sezioni dell'Associazione Europea dei Ferrovieri,
Vi scrivo poche semplici righe per condividere queste tradizionali festività natalizie. Un altro anno (o meno) di vita vissuto con passione ed entusiasmo, godendo dei valori europei che ci uniscono nell'AEC: le nostre tradizioni, la nostra fratellanza, la nostra amicizia e la nostra cultura legata alle ferrovie e ai ferrovieri, che tutti gli europei dovrebbero condividere. E tutto questo nonostante il mondo turbolento che stiamo vivendo, con i conflitti armati in corso. Nonostante ciò, queste festività ci offrono il dono di continuare a vivere momenti speciali con i nostri cari e di augurare la pace nel mondo.
Un ricordo molto speciale per tutti i nostri amici e colleghi che sono scomparsi quest'anno e un abbraccio fraterno alle loro famiglie e agli amici più cari. E anche ai nostri soci e alle loro famiglie che si stanno riprendendo, augurando loro una pronta guarigione.
A nome del Consiglio Direttivo dell'A.E.C. e di tutti noi che formiamo l'Associazione Europea, vi invio i miei migliori auguri per le festività e un prospero 2026. Abbiamo appena concluso un anno molto intenso ma entusiasmante, in cui abbiamo avuto la fortuna di organizzare diversi eventi, il più importante dei quali è stato senza dubbio l'European Days a Bordeaux, in Francia, e l'Assemblea Generale, tra gli altri. Abbiamo condiviso un percorso entusiasmante, ricco di esperienze condivise e, soprattutto, coltivando la nostra amicizia attorno ai treni e ai ferrovieri.
Guardando al futuro, affrontiamo il 2026 con rinnovato entusiasmo e un impegno maggiore, riconoscendo l'importanza di preservare e promuovere la complessa natura associativa all'interno dell'A.E.C. e di lavorare insieme collettivamente per affrontare nuove sfide. Non vediamo l'ora di incontrarvi a Torino, in Italia, a maggio, e di condividere con voi qualsiasi attività abbiate in mente: eventi di sensibilizzazione, viaggi, incontri, conferenze, visite tecniche e altro ancora: tutto sarà benvenuto.
Grazie per essere qui, siete importanti per me e contiamo su di voi per continuare questo viaggio e continuare a lavorare insieme per rafforzare il nostro partenariato europeo. Che il prossimo anno sia ricco di momenti meravigliosi e che possiate viverli insieme in buona salute.

Dear Giovanni, Fulvio, members, and friends from all sections of the European Railway Association,
I'm writing you a few simple lines to share these traditional Christmas holidays. Another year (or less) of life lived with passion and enthusiasm, enjoying the European values that unite us in the AEC: our traditions, our brotherhood, our friendship, and our culture linked to railways and railway workers, which all Europeans should share. And all this despite the turbulent world we live in, with ongoing armed conflicts. Nevertheless, these holidays offer us the gift of continuing to share special moments with our loved ones and to wish peace to the world.
A very special remembrance for all our friends and colleagues who have passed away this year, and a fraternal embrace to their families and dearest friends. And also to our members and their families who are recovering, wishing them a speedy recovery.
On behalf of the AEC Board of Directors On behalf of all of us who make up the European Association, I send you my best wishes for the holidays and a prosperous 2026. We have just concluded a very intense but exciting year, during which we were fortunate to organize several events, the most important of which were undoubtedly the European Days in Bordeaux, France, and the General Assembly, among others. We have shared an exciting journey, rich in shared experiences and, above all, nurturing our friendship around trains and railway workers.
Looking ahead, we approach 2026 with renewed enthusiasm and greater commitment, recognizing the importance of preserving and promoting the complex associative nature within the AEC and of working together collectively to tackle new challenges. We look forward to meeting you in Turin, Italy, in May, and sharing with you any activities you have in mind: outreach events, trips, meetings, conferences, technical visits, and more—all are welcome.
Thank you for being here. You mean a lot to me, and we count on you to continue this journey and continue working together to strengthen our European partnership. May the coming year be filled with wonderful moments, and may you enjoy them together in good health.
